Happy Elementary has been known many years for the motto, “excellence is expected, respected, and rewarded,” and fourth grader, Isaac Graham does not fall short. By the fifth six weeks of school Isaac had already earned a total of five hundred points in Accelerated Reading. When asked how many books he had to read, he responded with “I am not sure . . . a lot.” Isaac claims to read mostly fiction books, his favorite being Legends. Happy Elementary principal, Toni Waldo, recognized Isaac’s achievement by honoring him with the privilege of being principal for the day on April 13. Isaac described his experience as principal, “it was good because I got to tell people what to do all day.” The fourth grader then went on to explain that he had to arrive at school at 7:30, which was not “too early” for him because he is awake at 6:00 everyday so he can read before school.  Isaac was also required to dress in a suit and tie which he claims he enjoyed wearing. After spending the day following Mrs. Waldo’s footsteps he explained that there is a possibility he will become a principal as well.

Isaac Graham said after school he spends his time playing with his many types of beyblades and reading fiction books; right now he is just rereading books he has already read before. The ten year old explained his favorite part of going to school in Happy is being able to learn.
