Traditions run deep in the small town of Happy, Texas.  Veterans were honored on November 11th at the school auditorium with not an empty seat to be found.  On this patriotic day, students showed their appreciation for the Veterans by singing, playing music and performing a skit.

Happy Elementary principal, Toni Waldo stated, “The men and women who served in the armed services provided the freedoms we enjoy and appreciate.  Without them, life in the United States would not afford each of us the ability to pursue our dreams, seek out our destiny or enjoy the consequences of our decisions.  Thank you, Veterans, as Micah said during “The Wall”, you served so we could live.”

A standing ovation for the Veterans ended the heart-felt program.  The Veterans were then treated to tea and cake to conclude the day of honor.

Freedom is not free.  Thank you Veterans!
