Mr. Eve’s Math Class Homework Format

Below are a few examples of how homework should be completed in Mr. Eve’s math classes. The majority of assignments will be practice sheets such as this one. The same format is to be used for assignments from other resources also.

Please be sure to put your name at the top of the assignment and put the date that it is due. The work needs to be neat and legible. If I cannot read the work I will return the paper to be rewritten and it will be counted as late. It is important that you show your work. Always lightly circle your answer and check your work. If this format is not followed, then full credit cannot be given.

Please remember that late work, up to one day, has a 20-point deduction and will not be accepted after that. Not showing your work can also result in a 20-point deduction. These guidelines may seem strict, but please bear in mind that I routinely have more than 200 assignments a week to grade and record.

Math class may very well be the class with the most work, but math can only be learned through solid instruction and more importantly, working problems. The reward for a successful math education is a better foundation for college, an advantage in today’s competitive and technological work place, and a personal sense of fulfillment of being good at math.

Sincerely, Mr. Eve
